David Burn

Brand Strategy, Copywriting, and Creative Direction

David grew up in a family of sales and marketing pros. You live what you learn and he wrote his first ad—for a political candidate—when he was 17 years old. The candidate won her race, and the advertising hook was set. The following year, David started writing news for The College Reporter at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. After graduation, David worked for American Rivers in Washington, DC.

David started working as a copywriter at a high-tech business-to-business ad agency in Salt Lake City. In 2006, David started the Content Department at BFG Communications (now known as 9Rooftops). The team he assembled and led went on to create hundreds of articles, photo galleries, videos, and audio segments for the agency’s lifestyle clients.

In 2010, David launched Bonehook in Portland, Oregon to offer brands the content marketing expertise they need to connect with customers. In March 2018, David, his family, and the company moved to Austin, Texas. Since relocating to Texas, Bonehook’s focus has shifted to brand invention and reinvention.

David’s client experience includes Sundance Resort, HP, Camel, Coors Brewing, United Airlines, McDonald’s, NAPA Auto Parts, Samsonite, Baileys Irish Cream, GE Healthcare, Danville Development Corp., Lewis & Clark Bank, Columbia Sportswear, Oracle, and many more.

Cathy Solarana

Art Direction, Graphic Design, and Environmental Design

Cathy puts the “art” in Art Director.

She is a hard-working designer who brings her all to every project. Cathy’s “all” means a thorough exploration of your existing brand assets in an effort to improve the “look and feel” for your particular industry and audience.

Passion for design and for high-quality client care are hallmarks of her work. Cathy is serious about the value of design. She gives everything she’s got in order to express the heart and soul of a company.

Cathy is also active in AIGA leadership where she advocates for diversity, both locally and nationally. She also teaches design at Creighton University, her alma mater, and she conducts seminars for designers seeking to advance their work and the craft.

Cathy’s client experience includes Union Pacific, The Nature Conservancy, Creighton University, Lutheran Family Services, Omaha Public Library, Marque Snow for a New Nebraska, Planned Parenthood, Blue Planet Natural Grillers, and many more.
