Customer Showcase: Kim Olson for Texas Commissioner of Agriculture

Kim Olson is a dynamic public speaker, a proven leader and a fierce advocate for sensible new leadership in Austin. She’s in a close race for Texas Commissioner of Agriculture, a position currently held by Sid Miller. Like Miller, Olson is a farmer. That’s where the similarities end.

To reach potential voters, the Kim Olson campaign hired Bonehook to make out-of-home advertising and newspaper ads for placement in dozens of markets throughout the state.

The centerpiece of the new ad campaign, “I Mend Fences,” showcases Olson’s agricultural roots and the reality of modern day politics.

According to Nancy Nichols, Media Director for Kim Olson, “Citizens of Texas want real solutions for their families, not more bluster and a cloud of dust.”

We were hired to amplify Kim Olson’s true grit and her big ideas in print advertising, out-of-home advertising and social media advertising—while giving the people of Texas several great reasons to vote for her.

Art Direction: Cathy Solarana of Wheelhouse Collective

Customer Showcase: HealthCo Information Systems

HealthCo Information Systems is a value-added reseller of GE Healthcare’s Centricity Practice Solution, an industry-leading electronic medical records software suite for ambulatory clinics.

GE Healthcare’s EMR software has traditionally been presented to prospects and customers in a binary fashion, with clinical and practice management functionality shown as two distinct spheres that when combined make a whole. The reality is a bit more complex.

With the executive team’s help, we identified nine product categories and nearly three dozen different solutions. We then designed, wrote and organized the material into a physical binder and a brochure that members of the sales team can now use to make presentations inside the clinic. We also made the assets available to the team in digital format, so they can easily send new product fact sheets before, during, or after touching base with customers.

Customer Showcase : XPLANE

Earlier this year Portland-based design consultancy, XPLANE, hired Bonehook to help strengthen the firm’s copy muscles.

We were flattered by the request and also impressed by it. Think how much better all marketing communications would be if more of us bothered to ask our peers for their explicit opinions and expert help?

XPLANE, of course, has a keen interest in creating clear and compelling content.

For the past 24 years, XPLANE has accelerated business transformation initiatives by visualizing, clarifying, and explaining complex technologies, strategies, processes, and solutions.

One way that XPLANE delivers insights is via their Xplanations—the visual assets that result from a series of workshop sessions led by the XPLANE team. The outputs are co-created infographics that XPLANE’s clients then use to share their workshop discoveries with other stakeholders.

Bonehook’s role right now is working directly with teams at XPLANE to provide feedback on developing work. We’re also starting to help describe and promote the company’s various service offerings.

Next month, we will be conducting a two-hour workshop for the XPLANE team. Working title: Fundamentals of Copywriting for Non-Copywriters.

Customer Showcase: Danville Services

Danville Services brings joy to people with disabilities. This company of 1200 dedicated people leads with its heart and we are proud to partner with them on key communications initiatives like the launch of their new website.

Taking care of people with disabilities requires patience, compassion and integrity. Many of the roles are entry-level positions but the responsibilities are always immense. By using a combination of custom photographic assets and iconography, we are able to relay the power of the Danville story in ways that words alone can’t touch. Even when it comes to describing the scope of services provided—96 residential and day programs across four western states—it’s best to bring the facts to life in a visual way.

Customer Showcase: HealthCo Information Systems

HealthCo Information Systems has a compelling brand story to convey to physicians and to clinic admins. We gathered video testimony from customers and company leaders and condensed it into a two-minute narrative.

The Tualatin-based healthcare IT specialist also seeks to reach new staff and its current team with information that reveals company culture, and a clear look at future objectives and directions.

The new video is now featured front-and-center on the company’s homepage.

Customer Showcase: HealthCo Information Systems

Event marketing is becoming an increasingly important part of our business.

It’s something we’re grateful for, as it grows our reach, and tightens up our effectiveness. Almost all marketing programs rely on face time with customers and prospects, and a free event, customized for the heart of your audience is one way to make a lasting impression.

HealthCo_Accelerate_2016_Marylhurst

Last week, we helped drive practice managers from clinics around the Portland metro to Marylhurst University for Accelerate 2016, HealthCo Information Systems’ first in a series of half-day workshops.

We played a key support role in organizing the event and promoting it via email marketing to HealthCo’s lists. Darby Strong, our head of client success and production, went to school at Marylhurst, so it was a natural to host the event there. The Lake Oswego campus is peaceful, beautiful and centrally located in the Portland metro.

Our client, Jason Porter, chose the speakers for the event and all three delivered immense value to the audience.

Andrea Cunningham, HealthCo’s director of professional services, walked participants through a presentation about maximizing a clinic’s investment in EMR software. Jean Roque, founder and president of TruppHR in Portland, spoke about staffing in the context of organizational change (something all clinics are struggling to manage). The third presentation of the morning was by Sean Hoar, a partner at the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine and an expert in data security—a pressing concern, given the epidemic of medical identity theft.

Here’s one of two stand-up banners that we made for all of HealthCo’s “road show” needs:
